About
Hook, Hampshire
Situated in the quintessentially English village of Hook, the Raven Hotel was built in 1901 as a manor house, before being converted into a characterful hotel. The Raven is a grand building with friendly staff and good old-fashioned hospitality. You’ll be staying in a hotel that’s been visited by illustrious previous guests too, including Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. Children’s author Enid Blyton wrote her very first book at the hotel as she stayed here when working as a headmistress at a local school. You’ll find yourself surrounded by sights and attractions with a stay at the Raven Hotel, with plenty to do to keep the whole family entertained year-round. As some of the rooms are dog friendly you can bring your four-legged friend along for the trip too. Enjoy a day in nature at Castle Bottom National Nature Reserve or South Downs National Park. Get your history fix at Waverley Abbey or the Royal Military Collection at Sandhurst. Visit Birdworld for wildlife or spend a day at the races at Ascot Racecourse. You can also get plenty of fresh air and exercise by cycling along part of the King Alfred Way cycle route which passes close to the hotel.
Accommodation
Whether you’re staying for business or leisure you’ll find everything you need to relax and unwind. Clean, inviting and promising a restful night’s sleep, all blend tasteful décor with the building’s original character, plus all the essentials you need to make yourself comfortable. The hotel offers good old-fashioned hospitality and period touches, but with modern rooms and amenities. The 41 en-suite bedrooms are bright and tastefully decorated, with comfortable beds and neat bathrooms.
Dining
At The Raven Hotel, you can relax with a pint of real ale or a glass of fine wine in a traditional setting with period touches like a lovely open fireplace. If it’s cold you can drink indoors or when the sun’s out head outside to the charming pub garden. The restaurant serves up hearty portions of classic pub cuisine at great prices. Choose from steaks cooked the way you like and sausage and mash to serving platters and a wide selection of desserts and puddings. You’ll also find kids’ menus as well as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Once you wake after a great night’s sleep, you can choose from full english and continental breakfast options.
This is a pet-friendly hotel. There is limited availability for their rooms for pets, which are offered on a first come, first served, basis.
